Like many organisations, Novo Nordisk has historically faced challenges arising from a fragmented project and portfolio management (PPM) landscape. Project data was managed across multiple systems, limiting transparency across both the systems and the enterprise.

Project financial management was also often disconnected from planning processes and largely managed through spreadsheets. This resulted in significant effort being spent on reconciliation, validation and error correction.

Following the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, Novo Nordisk identified an opportunity to leverage the new platform, with SAP ePPM becoming a single source of truth for project cost controlling and project governance across the enterprise.

This presentation will share Novo Nordisk’s journey from the initial concept to the enterprise-wide rollout of an integrated project cost controlling solution comprising SAP ePPM and SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC). Once fully rolled out, the solution will support more than 5,000 users across the enterprise.
