Maria has over 29 years of experience with Sappi, Global leader in sustainable paper, pulp and packaging solutions, in various finance roles. Her career began in Accounts Payable and progressed through manufacturing accounting positions at the Westbrook, Maine mill. After approximately 17 years, she transitioned to Shared Financial Services Center, where she served as the administrator for the sales pricing tool, collaborating closely with the external sales team. Later, she moved into the Business Process Engineering (BPE) group. In this role, she acts as a liaison between finance and IT, leading system improvements, upgrades, and issue resolution to enhance efficiency and streamline processes for our finance users. Currently, Maria manages a team of three BPEs supporting all finance functions across North America, while also contributing to global initiatives and projects. She holds a BS in Accounting and an MBA from University of Southern Maine.
