Eric Smit leads the Global Center of Excellence (GCOE) for Planning & Analysis. The GCOE team consist of senior advisors that help customers improve business results with solutions that integrate business intelligence, financial & planning and analysis, machine-learning and predictive analytics capabilities.

Eric has over 25 years of experience in delivering analytics and finance transformation to customers globally in various roles at SAP, Oracle and Hyperion. He has deep knowledge of the challenges organizations face within Finance like Reporting, Planning and Analysis, Profitability, Closing the books and Data Management. He has been instrumental in helping organizations understand the value of adopting best practices for a World Class Finance, reducing Finance FTE’s, risk and cost, truly allowing finance to become a strategic partner to the business.

Eric was part of the original team to kick of the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) solution in 2016 with a particular focus on the planning functionality and has been instrumental in helping to make SAC one of the fastest growing solutions today in SAP.

Eric holds a degree in Economics with a major in Management Information Systems and combines finance and accounting expertise with a deep understanding of both the functional and technical aspects of the SAP Analytics offering.
