Case Study: Asklepios' Complete SAP S/4HANA Journey with AI-Enhanced Financial Processes
Description

Asklepios Kliniken, one of Germany's largest private hospital operators, successfully completed a comprehensive digital transformation by migrating from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA across all modules while implementing innovative AI solutions. Rather than replacing the legacy ISH (Industry Solution for Healthcare), Asklepios chose a pragmatic hybrid approach by extending existing capabilities with alternative solutions. The project included AI integration in Microsoft Teams for accounts payable/receivable and project management processes, delivering significant cost advantages over comparable AI solutions and SAP's native tools. Additionally, SAP Analytics Cloud was implemented to analyze financial and logistics data across purchasing (EK) and sales & distribution (SD) modules. The transformation delivered measurable improvements: substantial time and cost savings, enhanced user experience with intuitive operations, improved data quality through reduced errors, decreased employee stress levels, and strengthened cross-departmental collaboration. This case study demonstrates how healthcare organizations can successfully navigate the complex landscape of SAP modernization while addressing industry-specific challenges and regulatory requirements.

This session will cover:

  • Hybrid ISH Strategy: Extend existing ISH capabilities with alternative solutions instead of complete replacement to reduce risk and implementation complexity.
  • AI-First Financial Processes: Implement cost-effective AI solutions in Microsoft Teams for AP/AR and project management to achieve superior ROI compared to enterprise-grade alternatives.
  • User-Centric Change Management: Focus on intuitive user experience and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure high adoption rates and sustainable transformation success.
